Got a letter for ticket in 1988 from Texas?

I got a letter in the mail this week for the Converse Police Dept. Telling me that I have warrants for a "no proof of insuance, no valid drivers licence, failure to appear" I can not reall this ticket at all. The date is Aug. 1988. I now live in Florida. Does the statute of limitations come into pay here or what? I have been stopped in Florida a few times since then. I lived back in Texas for almost 10 months in 99. What should I do?

For some reason Texas courts are putting out a lot of these very old tickets. Unfortunately there is no statute of limitations and they will suspend your Florida drivers license. You can either hire an attorney or send them the money.

An alternative would be contact the judge and try to prove that you were not in Texas on that date. Was it a Texas license? Are you sure they have the right person?
