I am 27 and got caught shoplifting proucts worth $70. The store didnt ban me told me they have my name in the system, if i am caught again they will ban me from their stores. Cops were called they issued me a citation (Misdemeanor/petty theft) and have to appear in court. I have a clean record , no previous shoplifting or ANY charges. What are my best options? and what should i expect when i go to court?

Don't sweat it. This is California. A lot of jails wouldn't even let you in the door for such a petty offense.
Go to court, pay some fines and stay out of trouble. You have an excellent chance of this being handled as an infraction, which means no criminal record.
Probation officers are to busy to add you to their case load.

Well it isn't a guarantee... you will have to show up and see what they are offering. If they want to proceed with a misdemeanor then you should work with an attorney to have it reduced and minimize the damage. If they offer you an infraction and fines from the get go then you may want to just pay and be done.
No, you do NOT want to plead guilty. That would really mess things up.
