Yesterday I got caught shoplifting from an Store name where I live. I tried to walk out of the store with a shirt in my bag and the manager caught me and took me to an employee location in the back of the store. There he phoned my parents, took my name, birthday, house phone number, address and parents phone numbers. No police were called. I got to leave the store with a piece of paper that's headlined "Civil demand customer notice" the paper then continues to say how I have to pay a fine that Store name is sending me in the mail. I am a minor, by the way, I am 15. Will this go on my criminal record? Because no police were called does that just mean that it is a civil offense and as long as I pay the fine, I won't be put in court? If it does get put on a record how do I get rid of it because I would like to go to college and I doubt that any college I would be applying to would want to accept someone accused of a crime. Please help.
