Last week, my friend and I (well technically my friend, i gave turned myself in willingly) were arrested for grand theft. We looked up some girl on craigslist drove to her house and took her macbook air (selling for $1100) and ran. My fat friend couldn't run more than 1/4 mile without stopping and ended up getting caught, i ran the opposite way to get the car. Seeing cop cars all around i decided it would be in my best interest to turn myself in (they'd see all my calls to his phone anyways). So i flag down a cop and tell him i was the other guy who took it. What it says on my ticket that i am being charged with is burglary - felony.
I guess they cops had written down that i was very cooperative, flagged a cop down to let him know i was the other guy.
Now my question is, what do you think will happen to me? This is my first offense, no traffic ticket.. nothing. All of the cops that were there said probably probation for a year. I got something in the mail today saying that it was going to be in superior court now (i am 17 almost 18) Can that be changed, if so how?
- I am going to school full time and working part time if that helps my case any.
