Grandchild Support?

Hello, I am on permanent disability with a VERY low monthly income. My sons' ex-girlfriend had a baby, and the state in which they live are trying to make me pay $150.00 a month for the childs support. No one I have spoken to about this has ever heard of "Grandchild Support". Is there anything I can do?

Who is "they"? Your son is responsible for supporting the child, not you. Is he a minor?

"They" are, my son, 18 years old, his ex-girlfriend and their son. The state of Missouri DFS are the ones trying to make me pay the support. I didn't even know my grandson existed until he was around 15 months, so I had no way of knowing the account was in arrears.

I am not sure why they are going after you, unless you claimed some sort of government benefits. You really need to call them or ask an attorney.
