Following a previous well read but (as yet) unsanswered post, I have another connundrum which may be simpler to answer.
In 1951, my parents moved to the USA and my father started a business in Los Angeles. Father went first, and my mother and I followed some time later when he had located a home. As a 7 year old child, I was enrolled in school in LA. Clearly my parents were granted Green Cards as my father ran his own business for more than 3 years in LA.
It appears, however, that the business did not prosper and we finally returned to England in 1954. Now my questions.
1) Are 'Green Cards' time limited? In other words, when my parents left the USA for England in 1953, would they have been able to return to work again in the US with their existing documentation.
2) Would my status as the child of Green Card bearing aliens have any bearing on my ability to acquire a Green Card now?
Any clarification would be great.
