I was arrested yesterday at a Target in Richfield, MN for theft. I was shopping and i forgot some things in my cart and couple items i accidentally put in my bag because i had identical items to return. My cart was a mess so i decided to straighten it out and without closer i put them in my cart thinking it was mine. I was arrested for the first time and was taken to jail, i spent 2 nights and i have my court appearance tomorrow.
The AP personnels also said i was trying to get away to returning an item from the shelf that i picked up when i told the clerk that i wanted to purchase it. I thought she rang it up for a purchase and charged me for it along with the others shirts i was purchasing (i wasn't paying attention; i didn't even look at my receipt). Everything they claimed i tried to get away with stealing turned out to be $500 dollars, including some of my own things, they claimed to be theirs.
They have me on camera. They gave the police officer a disc and a written statement of the incident.
My hope is to get a dismissal on this case. I do have an attorney but still wondering if anyone has been in this situation before and there was a dismissal and what are my chances of a dismissal on this case.
PLEASE HELP ME! (because of this issue, i have bigger fish to fry!)
