I married my husband in 2005 in the state of Iowa. A year after getting married we separated and I am now living in California. Upon returning to California I found out he was still married to his first wife. He is still living in Iowa, but is incarcerated loooking at a twenty year sentence. How do I go about haviing our marriage anulled, if this is grounds for anullment?

Yes, in Iowa bigamy is grounds for an annulment.

You should try to speak to a local attorney; you may find that divorce is simpler and cheaper in the long run.

(I couldn't find any Iowa forms online - this might suggest that it's a little bit more complex than a simple dissolution/divorce)

Bigamy is grounds for a divorce in all 50 sates, its territories, and DC.

So is felony incarceration.

I suggest you speak with a good attorney.

If he committed bigamy, you probably aren't (nor ever were) legally married.
