Several weeks ago, a Christian group was praying outside of a planned parenthood facility in a college town in upstate NY. Several college men came up close to the group and proceeded to systematically yell "F**K You" at each adult praying, and yell "your mother is a wh*re" at every child in the group.

What, if anything, is the crime committed and legal action the group can take?

Thanks!

There was no crime committed.

You can ignore them.

Why?

The howlers were exercising one of their first amendment privilege, freedom of speech.

If they were upsetting the public peace, the police coud arrest them for disturbing the peace.

That, however, would have nothing to do with the abortion center protesters.

If the police arrested the howlers, it would be for affronting the public dignity, peace, and quiet.

At any rate, if they had been arrested, it's a very minor charge.

Both groups haves and duties, but not to each other.

The rights we possess are owed to us only by the government, not to each other!

They were exercising the same right to free speech you were. I remember in the 80's a group was protesting an abortion clinic near me. One of the protestors laid down in front of an SUV attempting to enter the parking lot. He yelled at the driver, saying the only way he was getting in was to drive over him. The SUV driver did so. I don't believe he was charged, since the protestor was voluntarily driven over.
