Guilty or Not

I was pulled over for going 53 and he cited me for 55 in a 35 mph. I am a good driver. Just driving home and missed the speed limit sign or misread because of the sun. I have a court hearing tomorrow. Should I change my plead to guilty and eat the fine?

You're an adult tiger, right?
Then, choose wisely.
Ths site offers minimal legal advice, not parenting tips!!!

Whether 53 or 55 you have little chance of beating your citation. I would say eat the ticket... take a traffic school class to try and keep it off your record.
Regardless of the reason and how good a driver you are, you were exceeding the limit.

Thanks, mightymoose. I was just hoping to get the ticket dismissed because he cited me incorrectly. Not guilty for going 55, guilty for going 53 although not intentional. I thought I was going the speed limit. I don't need the points and I definitely don't need to pay more for insurance; but, I will chalk this down as a bad memory.

You can always take it to trial and hope the officer doesn't show.
The officer could easily amend the citation to correct the error.
You might have some luck if you go the distance.... just stop admitting that you were exceeding the limit at all. That doesn't help you.
