My company put me on forced short term disability-blaming me for posting on a blog that bashed the company and threatened suicide. I didn't do it, but I think I know who did. How can I prove it? It was done under a pseudonym but enough of the personal content of the post points to me and the fact that my home computer had to have been hacked. It is now gone and the webmaster has tried to help but says IP address is from a proxy server. What can I do?

I'm guessing that I might be missing something. Obviously there is plenty of reason to believe that someone may have posted using your name - it happens all the time. Stating that a fake post may also include your home computer being hacked by someone you know - highly unlikely. The webmaster not providing an IP address and stating it is from a proxy server doesn't help either, especially since it could be connected with a specific service provider. Hopefully you can get the exact IP address from the webmaster without a court issued subpoena.

But what are we missing here? If you tell your company that someone else decided to air their dirty laundry using some personal details and that you wouldn't be stupid enough to post all that information (after all, you know what a proxy server is), then why are they still so convinced that it is you who posted?
