Harassment from Ex

I have been divorced for about six months now. My ex recently sent an email to all of my family members and friends telling them I am a whore, bad mouthing me and just flat out lying about me in the worst ways possible. Our divorce decree states we are not supposed to interfere in each others lives after the divorce and I feel he has violated that agreement. Is there anything I can do to stop him from doing this to me again? I do not speak with him in any way and I'm trying my best to move on but he remains bitter and wants revenge for me leaving him. He is trying to ruin my life.

You can't make an uncouth person civil. The best thing you can do is to continue to ignore him. Sure, you can waste more money on a lawyer (or more of your time in being your own lawyer) to take him back to court and ask the judge to censure him. That's a waste of time, because the judge will just tell him to behave.

If he keeps doing this, that's always an option, though. It usually doesn't magically make these angry, hurt idiots behave. They simply pay a fine and keep doing it.

Again, unless he's breaking the law, hurting you, threatening you, or causing you physical harm; then you immediately cal "911". Otherwise, just don't look or listen at his antics. He'll eventually go away.

I agree - just ignore him if he is only doing what you posted. Generally; after a while, they get tired of what they are doing & quit.

Your family members & friends know you & know when he is lying.
