harrassing credit calls on paid bills

12 yrs ago we paid off a late bill for a stove and are still getting morning and evening calls for the money. We no longer can find the receipt so they keep harrassing us. It is not on our credit report, and we are retired now and have no credit issues but these calls come in the early morning and very late evening. Is there any recourse for us. Is it legal for them to keep bothering us after 12 yrs even though it has been paid?

if I am not mistaken if you tell them to stop calling you then they have to stop and can only contact by mail.
