I am a district manager for a large nation insurance company. I am a 1099 contracted agent. The manager above me has spent the last 12 months causing me harm, such as allowing other agents to call on my clients (the Company rules and guidelines say we cannot do that).
This manager has also called a couple of my clients and tried to get them to use other agents (which is against Company policy).
This manager has created rules and guidelines separate from the Companies, which is confusing for everybody. We are now trying to create a new version of these separate rules and guidelines, and I nominated myself to be a panel member to help create these new rules. Other fellow managers also wanted me involved, and initially nominated me to be part of the panel as well.
Now this managers husband/partner (but not appointed with the Company) says he will determine who can be a part of this new panel, and I'm left out because they don't want my input.
My questions are- first, since the Company is aware of this manager creating separate rules / guidelines, and apparently doesn't care (although they won't honor them), do they accept the responsibility and liability, as well?
Second, I am being discriminated against, my clients have witnessed it, as well as fellow managers, is this a real form of discrimination?
Third, can a person not appointed with the Company discriminate against me in creating new rules and guidelines for us to follow?
It's clear this manager and her husband have their own agenda, and want me silenced. But I'm not I can do anything about it.
