Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft he claims i stole his $7500 watch. i didnt.

An acquaintance is claiming i stole a very expensive watch from him and i didn't. There is no evidence of the theft. A first i thought he was joking and i told him i threw it in the garbage over text message. Hes claiming hes going to go to the cops and file a report with those messages. Can i be arrested for that?

Based on that information alone I would say an arrest is unlikely.
Your comment about throwing it in the trash might cause you some problems if he should try to sue you for the value of the watch.... maybe.
