I have a question about my personal belongings in DFW-TX.

I recently left my apartment to move in with my bf . After a week, he realized it wouldn't work out and I was forced to move out. Unfortunately, he has my bedroom set, dining room set, and a computer desk as well as some valuable wine glasses. I could not physically or financially move my larger belongings into storage so I left them there until I could. He said it was my problem. I had to go to FL to stay with family and wont be back for 2weeks or a month. Question is can he legally keep my funniture? Can he throw it away? He offerred $1000 for it although it is worth well over $2000. I don't believe he will pay me. If when I return to town he hasn't paid anything, can I retrieve the furniture. I saved text messages regarding this.

Technically he can't keep your furniture but you need documentation that these are yours should you attempt to retrieve them and he refuses to allow you to do so.

Can he throw it away claiming it was abandoned? Can he sell it claiming it was abandoned? Can I take it back when I return to town and can pay for a mover? Im curious what my rights are. It was a matter of 2 days from when I moved the stuff there to when I had to move out. My ex got crazy and accused me of things I didn't do. I am not sure what he is capable of. I will be back to TX in 2 or 3 weeks. Thanks.

Unless you have something in writing regarding that this is your furniture and a date when you plan to return to pick it up, he would have difficulty saying you abandoned this property.
