Here it goes, I received a seat belt citation earlier this year. Prior to the fine passing the due date I filed an extension on it online which was accepted. I proceeded to wait until further notice about the citation was mailed to me. I never received a second notice through mail or any notice about it.
Until a few weeks ago I receive a letter from GC Services a collection agency, which showed that I owe the Superior Court of California a balance of $825. The letter stated that as a result of my failure to appear on my citation the court had referred me to the GC Service. I called GC to ask about my payment options, they proceeded to link my bank account to the balance as they allowed me to make monthly payment of $165 or so dollars per month.
I thought that would solve the problem, little did I know i would receive another letter this time from the DMV, that as of Sep-11 my license would be suspended until my failure to appears and failures to pay a fine were resolved.
I have done little research since I can't sleep and I came across this site, and what I know is, I most likely have a warrant for this matter.
My citations go as follow, 1. seat/belt 2. failure to appear and 3. failure to pay a citation I am assuming.
I just simply can't have my license suspended, I drive a lot, work, home, ect. Am I facing any jail time for this?
Any advice on what to expect or do aside from calling the court which I will do tomorrow morning would be appreciated.

Call the court and ask what it would take fir you to clear up this misunderstanding. They want money, not your body. They'll let you make payment arrangements. You keep your word, you keep out of jail and keep your license. Just keep your word and pay them their tribute.

For future reference, don't ignore a citation. Your best option is traffic school, if you can get it. Otherwise, hire a lawyer and fight it, or pay the pirates their tribute.
