Alcohol & Drugs: MIP, MIC, Intoxication Help!!! California Mip!!!!

OK i am 18 and got busted for 25662(a) B&P MIP alcohol. I was at a park and
just when me and two girls were about to start drinking, the cop found us and
im the only one who got citation. For the girls, cop just called their parents and were
sent home. It was like 2 am or something I think. The cop said that he could
arrest me right now but is being generous enough to end it with only a MIP citation.
They didnt ask me to blow the thing so its just possession. The park was in Irvine, CA
and I live in Irvine as well. I asked the cop if its gonna have any effect in my license
and he said no, but his partner said that DMV now suspends license for 6 months for this.
DAMN!! I DONT WANT MY LICENSE TAKEN AWAY!! My dad just bought me a car!!!!
It's my first time for alcohol, but a little less than a year ago I went to court for
minor in possession of cigarrete, did 30 hrs community service and did not paid fine
and that was it. Could you tell me what's gonna happen to my license and
if Im gonna have to get an attorney for this? PLZ HELP!! MY LIFE and girlfriend
depends on this!!!!!!!!!!!!

I also hear some damn scary stuff from online about license being suspended for a year and record devastating my life and sometimes going to jail and stuff. Im go frustrated I cant focus on my studies and work. I think about this all day.

also, i was the one who drove but by the time i got busted, i didnt have anything to do with the car. they searched it though and didnt find anything. I walked home, because I took a sip of beer and cop said for minors its zero tolerance. I went back to the park in the morning and picked up the car. In the citation, where you put vehicle number and stuff he just put a big PED across it. What's that suppose to mean?

I have no answer for your other questions but I bet PED means pedestrian. He put that since you did not drive away. There are probably other penalties if you had been driving.
