Help how can i get my money

i AM AT A LOSS! Sold my truck to a friend of mine...well i thought a friend of mine. He gave me 300 down with a remaining 1500 to be paid at the latest of 60 days..they would get there taxr return by then. Well i let him load it up on roll back and take it. Well the days and months have passed and still no money. Tried going to house, found out he took my truck somewhere in atlanta....traded/sold it to this guy....with promises to return with title when ever he got it from me. Well im not stupid....cause he thinks he getting the title without paying me the rest of the money...saying he will get it to me as soon as his return comes in. Well now I cant get ahold of him. Dont know where the truck is in atlanta or i would go get it. Cause i do still have the title. Police don't look at it as a stolen vehicle...how that is i have no idea. And honestly i am broke so what if any are my options now? This is crazy..PLEASE ANY ADVICE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. iM AT A LOSS ON THIS. THANKS -FRUSTRATED AND LOOKING FOR OPTIONS!

You might have to sue him in small claims court to try & get any money from him.

The vehicle is not stolen because he took it with your permission . The fact that he failed to pay you later is a completely separate issue.
You can file and small claims court to attempt to obtain a judgment, however if your friend is broke and has nothing to sue for you may be wasting your time.
