my landlord, always takes too long getting to me, and now its the last straw....i guess last night my frif and freezer broke and i noticed this morning, @ about 9:30am i called him and told him the problem, he didnt get anyone out until 1:30 in the afternoon, my wife heard hime on the phone downstairs @ 1pm telling someone the address, so he didnt contact anyone until 1pm, now all my food in the freezer is bad and the frig, and now i was just contacted saying that they will put a new frig in tomorrow between 2-5, i want to know what i can do to get any kind of reinbursment for my food that went bad, and on a side note the fig was a sub zero frig and instead of repair he wants to put a new cheap frig in, is that right? and also this summer my central air went out and instaed of repair, he said it would cost to much, he put in 2 window units, is that right? it doesn't even cool the whole appt. We have lived here over 3yrs never late with rent and never had one complaint against us, there are only three units in our building and we are the only ones who pay, and on time everytime unlike the others. the landlord doesnt really own the building he is the power of attorney and he handles everything, i think it is his brother who owns it, if that helps anything.....all i want to know is do i have to pay rent when something like this happens? doesn't the landlord have to repair or fix anything that is wrong not take the cheap way out everytime, i heard that if i was here when i moved in then it has to stay while i live here, like the central air. does he have to pay for the food that went bad in the frig, or can he reinburse us for new food when he gets the new frig in TOMORROW! or is there nothing i can do but shut the hell up and suck it up? u can e-mail me @ lbjadams@gmail.com with any kind of advice, i would really appriciate it or call @ 616 581 1128 please help
