My wife and I moved from Florida and cam to N.Y we found a place we gave the deposit in total of 2,800 to make a long story short the landlord took our money and we never moved in we took him to small clams courts but he never showed up.We showed the judge all the proper documents and he ruled in our favor.My question is who can i hire to retrieve this money owed to us with a court ordered document? please help us it was the only saving to find a place and now we have to start from scratch! thank you.

You can hire a collections agency or an attorney to TRY and collect your judgment. They often charge from 20 to 33% to do that, if they are successful. Don't expect miracles. Fewer than 75% of litigants ever collect 1/4 of their judgment. Small claims courts are great for government, bad for the little guy.

If court has been ordered you can't do anything . Better you talk with landlord for settlement.
