Hi, I really don't know a lot of rules about alcohol I'm an international student so I need your help please. I got a ticket of open alcohol last week and I didn't go to court yet. My last day to plea guilty or not is Wed.
What happened is I was at a party and had a bottle of Vodka in my back bocket. It wasn't sealed I drank from it in the party and then the guys of the house kicked me out and made a ruckus. I walked out and I find 2 cups infront me thought that I was making trouble or something. So they searched me and found the bottle and wrote me a ticket of open alcohol. The bottle was closed but not sealed from the store. I have been drinking from it but not in public places or streets or anywhere like that.
I'm 21 and I don't have any Criminal record all I have is 2 speeding tickets but I don't know if that counts with the criminal record or not.
So. my question is do I plea guilty or not? can I win this? and what is the punishment of open alcohol in Michigan a fee or what?
