We recently moved in to our apartment about 1 week ago due to a job transfer. We found out today that 2 weeks ago there was a rape and hostage situation in our complex. Also there have been several burglaries in the past 2 weeks. None of this was made known to us upon signing the lease. We are from a different state and thought this was a really great community. Now I being a mother of 2 am very scared. Is there a grace period in which you can get out of a lease??? If so please let us know how to proceed.
