My jurisdiction is: Tennessee

I am a teen driver.
I have gotten in 2 wrecks, one was extremely minor and the other wasn't bad but i totaled my vehicle.
The first wreck was in April, 2 days before mothers day. I was in a neighborhood, I was backing out of a friends drive way and bumped into a car that was stupidly parked directly behind my friends drive, which I didn't see. We reported it, I wasn't written a ticket and insurance took care of it.
2 days later, on mothers day I was on a back road, came to a stop sign, stopped completely, pulled out because I didn't see another car because of a hill and we crashed and I totaled my jeep. Noone was injured, but the cop said that he would write it up as a wreck with injury for insurance purposes. He didn't write me a ticket so no one was at fault. My parents took away my driving priviliges until I went to a driving school, which I did and I took 6 hours of personal driving lessons. I wasn't a bad driver to begin with, but I am now a million times more cautious.
Well in Tennessee they have a drivers point system and apparently if you accumulate 6 points or more they propose that your liscence be revoked and you go to a defensive driving school.
Now I have to go to a hearing the first week of August and I am scared to death of my liscence being taken away. I fully am regretful and have learned from my wrecks and I'm more than willing to go to another driving course. Am I most likely going to get my license taken away? Help! I'm a good kis, straight A honors student involved in a millionextra cirricular activities. I need to drive.

How did your meeting in court go?

My daughter has the same exact scenario as you, can you tell me what happened when you went to court. She too is an honors student. Had two wrecks within 3 weeks of each other. Neither was a ticketable offense.

Looks like this one is a past post, but I'm still curious. There has to be something that the original poster didn't mention. If she did not get a ticket, why is she still having to go to court?

Due the them being minors, when the accident report is reported it puts 5 points on there license from what I have been told even though they were not ticketed for the accident. We haven't received the letter yet as my daughters accidents were both recent, so I was inquiring what happened when the other one went to court at the beginning of this month. Hope that I receive a reply from them soon.

I would look for a traffic attorny then. I can't believe they would penalize her jsut because she was in a wreck, if she had not been determined to be at fault. That's insane. What state are you in?
