I just recently joined the site and I was wondering what your idea is about an issue I am facing. I worked at Rogers in 2006 for 3 months on a salary because it was full time. I was also in full time school so I decided to leave at the end of october because it was too much fore me. I started early/mid July at the company. I received a letter in 2007 stating they had overpaid me by almost $6000 which was not possible because it was over half of what I actually got paid. Plus they said that I got paid for a sat holiday and vacation pay that I shouldnt have gotten paid. However, I did work a stat holiday and I was passed my 3 months so I was eligible for my vacation pay. I called the HR associate that send me the letter about 3 times and I got no reply. So being young and I guess ignorant I ignored it thinking that if after 3 calls 3 detailed messages and no call back I assumed it was taken care of. So after I had filed my taxes and months went on I received a letter from a collection company stating my case from Rogers was forwarded to them . After explaining to them the whole story they told me that I have to try to call them as it is severely effecting my credit rating. I called again with no answer. The collection company called a few months after I explained the same thing and she advised me to keep calling. I did, I still heard nothing. At the end of 2007 I received a call from another lady at the collection company who was really trying to help me investigate the problem. I told her all the information like the direct deposits into my account and roughly when I started and when I quit but I didn't know the exact days. Also I never received a ROE from them to know when they have it recorded that I left. So after she said they were going to contact them she said she would get back to me. Now a week ago I get a call from a guy at the collection company urging me to march into there head office and not leave until i get some answers. However, Rogers is a huge corporation and I wouldnt know where to start. Even the collection company is on my side but the reason why Im asking you is I wanted to know any advice or suggestions you may have about this.
