I did something stupid and am seeking legal help. I bought a computer for a friend and we had an agreement that he would pay me back monthly since he did not have to money at that time.

Since I bought the computer he has made three payments on $10.00. The balance remaining is $618.00

We did not put anything in writting, because when I tried he said he did not agree to that. We verbally agreed that he would make monthly payments. If one month he did not have enough money to pay I wanted a minimum of $10.00. He says that I told him that he could just pay me $10.00 a month.

Do I have the right to take possetion of the computer because he has not made an effort to make a substantial payment to me.

Please help.

Sue the bad person in small claims court for the balance.

And never lend money you cannot afford to lose.

I am assuming that you have a receipt for where you paid for the computer. Demand the return of your property. If he does not return it go talk to the sheriff. A magistrate might order the return or you might have to file in small claims.
