I have done something very bad and not sure how to deal with this ...I stole and forged checks from a family member, they made out a police report and filed charges and i dont know what will happen, will i be arested will i get papers to go to court ? im not sure whats going to happen and im scared i want to pay them off and am trying to do so, please help me the lady next door said there was an officer at my house today i dont know if he was here to pick me up or what...i just need to know how this works and how to deal with whats going to happen. thank you

If you are picked up and arrested by the police do not admit to anything. Tell them you want to consult a lawyer. If you can hire an attorney before they pick you up that would be very good. If you are arrested they will book you and you will stay until the bail hearing which could be overnite. At the bail hearing, plead not guilty and if you can't afford a lawyer ask for a court appointed one. If you can't make bail (10% of bond) then you will have to stay in jail until you can unless lucky enough to ROR - released on own recognizance.

if the family member drops charges will they still pick me up?...and what kind of bond are we talking bout do you have any idea? and can i use a bondsmen...im sorry im so upset here i dont even know what to ask, if charges were filed will they pick me up ? or just questioin me?

Yes...the state will continue to prosecute.

Bail questions: ask the judge when he arraigns you.

Yes you can use a bondsman...10% will have to paid. You can try and talk to person about paying them back and do so even if they pick you up and proceed with prosecution. Restitution will look better for you if you do it before you go to trial.
