Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft Help

Hi. My situation is this: I am currently on probation for shoplifting and have completely stopped shoplifting as I have definitely learned my lesson. However, yesterday I was at a local department store to pick up a few items. I had my hands full and was not near a cart so I placed the items in my bag that had I used as a purse. I have used it for shopping before. When I put the items in my bag, I heard over the intercom for security to watch 3 cameras in areas that were letter coded so I do not know if it was meant to watch me or not. This didn't bother me though because I knew I was paying. I collected all of the items I needed and went to the cash register to pay for them. I used my Visa. I left the store, walked around the mall for a few minutes of browsing then left. When I got home I realized there was one item I had that slipped to the bottom of my bag that I did not see when I went to pay, meaning one item was unpaid for. My question is this, if I go back to the store to return it / pay for it I feel like I would be putting myself at risk because I have a prior shoplifting offense and I probably have no credibility. And my thoughts are that if I was being watched, wouldn't a security officer have noticed and stopped me while I was in the store? What are the chances that I will be seen on camera and tracked down via my visa info? How many days should I wait before I can feel at ease and feel safe that I will not be caught for this? How would I find out if I am caught -would they notify my PO and she would notify me on our next meeting or would police come right away? I feel very uneasy about the whole situation because it was an honest mistake and I don't want this to hurt my family if I'm going to be charged. What are the chances that the store will hunt me down to pursue charges and how long would it take for me to find out? I'm stressing out and sick to my stomach just thinking about it. Please help.

If they saw you you would have been stopped if they knew you had any items that wer not paid for. I doubt they know or will ever.
