I got caught stealing and the cop said I will get a fine in the mail and have to come down for fingerprinting....as ring as I plead guilty.....how ring until that goes on my criminal record

It could be two days, two months or even two years.

I don't believe I would plead guilty. You need to get a lawyer right away & talk to the lawyer about your options. Talk only to your lawyer! (I'm assuming the two places where you typed "ring" you mean long.)
