Helping my ex-husband

My ex-husband broke into my house and assaulted me and then was arrested. To make a long story short, there was a lot leading up to that situation in which I contributed. I am not making excuses for his final action, but I feel as though he received too much prison time for this. Now, I feel terrible. After the incident I was so angry that I tried to just ignore the situation. I realize now the wrong that I played (which is too long to get into right now). I tried some to get the county attorney to reduce charges, but was always made to feel like a little child that was suffering from domestic abuse. Now, I have written my ex and he says that he does have 30 days to withdraw his plea agreement. What can be done if he does withdraw his plea agreement now that he will have my full help in getting a lesser charge or sentence? What kind of legal consequences, if any, will I face?
Thank you for any assistance.

What if you are? these cases are not won because of a spouses testimony. Its won on facts. Bruises, broken items, threats, letters, statements made at scene etc etc. Do you have any clue how many women recant their stories about the abuser? Too many. Your statements will do little to change verdict I suspect. What it could do is get him even mor etime. However take your idea to his Attorney see what he wants to do with it
