I wanted a help and so thought to put up a question here. I'm a 16 year old and I have given a birth to a baby girl. I had a consensual sex.(but I never thought that I would become pregnant). I am so regretting things right now. I haven't got her home yet(which is killing me right now). I was told to give her up for adoption because some one told me that as you are a minor, you can't keep the baby. But when I had gone to the court for the procedure the judge told me that I have 2 months if ever I change my mind I can take her back. So basically I wanted to know
1.) if I am a minor can I keep the baby with me if the father of the baby is not in any contact or so?
2.) can my mum keep the baby as a guardian till I turn 18?
I really want her back. The indian laws are the worst thing. I can't live with this guilt that I had to give her up for adoption though her mom is stable and fine and had to give her at such a small age. The worst thing is how will she react when she'll come to know that she is adopted:(
Please help me its a request:(
I'll be really thankful and obliged

Thank you everyone for your support who are actually there for helping me. I really need help. I know it's my mistake but God is giving me such s terrible punishment for this.

Please clarify. Are you in India, as in the country in Asia, or Indiana, as in the midwestern US state? In different places you seem to be saying both of them, and it makes a LOT of difference.

IP check reveals India.
The subcontinent on the Asian continent, not the state in the US.

Well done, AJ, I should have thought of that. It's been a long month.

That being the case, you will have to consult a forum for Indian law, since it is not the same as US law and we have no experts on Indian law here.
