About two and a half months ago, my husband hit a parked car. Our insurance and their insurance took care of repairing their car, but now the owners of the car we hit want us to pay for their car rental b/c their insurance wouldn't pay for it! Are we obligated to pay for their car rental? Or is it an expense that they are going to have to deal with because they didn't have the option on their insurance to get a rental car? What are the laws on this?
I don't feel we have to pay for thei car rental b/c they were not forced to get a rental car. It was an option. They could have just borrowed a car from someone or dealt with the one car they already have...
I just don't want have to get a lawyer and pay attorneys fees when i know attorneys fees would cost more than they rental payment itself.
Thanks for all your help.
