We have a neighbor that is in a bit of a pinch with our HOA. They sent the notice of annual dues dated May 1st with the due date of June 1st. The dues are $160. The problem is they are living paycheck to paycheck as most people are, and missed the due date. It has been sent to a lawyer for collection and is right at $200. They do now have the money to pay up, but what I'm trying to find out is are there any laws about the time frame of the original notice. 30 days is kind of a short time span for some people.
