HOA Harassment

I have been renting from the owner of my home for 2 years. No problems until the last month. I feel like the HOA is discriminating just against me. The HOA has rediculous rules and regulations. (1) you can only park your car in your garage. If you park in your driveway they say they can immediately tow your car. (2) Their is designated guest parking for visitors to the residence. Which owners park their extra vehicles more than the two that fit in the garage. The HOA told me that lack of a parking permit is grounds for immediate tow. My car was towed from my driveway, the first time I ever parked it there, and the towing company said it was only my car that was towed that night. I took pictures around the neighborhood and 24 other cars were parked in their driveway and not towed. I called management and they said I violated the rules by parking my car in the driveway and it is grounds for immediate tow. But no one elses car was towed. The first time I parked in the guest parking spot, they towed my car again. When I called them they said parking without a guest parking pass is grounds for immediate tow. Once again I went around and took pictures of the vehicles in the guest parking spots, one out of 29 vehicles had a parking pass, but mine was the only one towed. Dozens of homes park their cars in the driveway everynight and never get towed. The same cars park in the guest parking spot without a pass and never get towed. Is this grounds for an harrassment lawsuit?

You as a renter have very few rights. If these rules are in the HOA's bylaws they absolutely have the right to enforce them. you may feel you are being picked on but you probably aren't and is usually the renters that cause problems only because often the landlord does not give them a cop of the bylaws, therefore many of them probably get violated. As far as the parking, it is legal for them to tow your car if you did park in your driveway. My sisters complex has VERY strict parking bylaws and you get ticketed and towed eventually if you park in visitor parking. It is ridiculous but if it is in the bylaws, they can enforce them.
