HOA policy on pets

i have been living in my apartment for over 7 months. before i moved in i told my landlord that i have a small dog. my landlord notified the HOA manager for permission if i can move in with the dog and he said to give it a try. the HOA has a no pet policy except for one grandfathered dog. i know that there are other pets in the building. recently the HOA made me remove my pet. is it leagal for the HOA to have me remove my dog and allow the other pets to reside?

Your asking if its "legal" Lets put it this way there are no laws forbidding such action.

If you know they have a no pet policy, then you should not have moved the dog in. They have the right to tell you to get rid of your dog, especially if this is in the CC & R's.
