Is it legal for me to require a holding deposit?
I have a renter that wants to rent my property, but not for a couple weeks. I'd like to require a holding deposit that is forfeited in the event they do not sign he lease along with all the security deposit, etc. In the event the tenant does follow through, the deposit would be applied toward the security deposit.
