House Lien?

I recently had my kitchen remodeled, and i have come to learn that the cabinet supplier that my contractor
used is filed for a lien on my house for non-payment from the contractor whom i paid in full, unfortunatly
i dod not sign a waiver of lien. I have come to learn that my contactor is taking this cabinet suppler to court for
another issue on a different job and tht is why all of this is going on. I have a letter from my contractor stating
I paid in full and they would reimburse me for anything that this would cost me.

I guess my question is can i do anything to protect myself while they are fighting thier issue out.

A: I would sue both of them to get the mechanic's lien off your house.


(By the way, you could get in their lawsuit to do this as a third party; hire a lawyer.)

You need to check with an attorney and have him file an answer to the mechanic's lien. In many states full payment to the general contractor is a bar. It is better to fight it now rather than later.
