i live in md, owner lives in ok, house in kansas-listing for house said move in conditon, and in questions on listing, it said specifically no basement-i paid 2510 down and made some payments until got handyman there to check it out to make sure so can rent it out since i drive and cant move there for about 2 years. anyways the foundation is crumbling and house cannot be occupied at all, and repair is close to 20,000 in estimates for wall to be replaced,no otehr way to fix it because damage is too severe. Owner said it was sold 'as is' according to contract, but since he said no basement and that is where the damage is, i asked him FoR refund and he refuses. i dont know what to do because i do not drive in that area and tried to settle this out of court and he says i cannot be refunded, i am out 3915 so far on this and dont know what to do.

Find an attorney so he/she can take a close look at the contract (since the seller states that sale was as-is) and if not true, sue the seller for failure to disclose. Good Luck!

listing said no basement

contract does say as is, but the listing said no basement, move in condition-so what the listing/ad for the house doesnt matter?
