My house was vandelized my a group of teens last night. I called the local police and about twenty min later the police showed up, meanwhile I grabbed a flashlite and took a drive through town to try to find the teens .As I was shearching I found several other town folk looking also, as damage had been done to them aswell. We found the teens that did it and the police showed up and handcuffed them. Later that night the officer called and said that they released them back to thier parents and that I should get an estimate for damesges.My question, can I press charges? what is the proper procedure for the police-
police report, do I get a copy? can I get the name of the teen or teens that did the damage?Other then payment for damages what other recourse do I have.The officer came to my house to look at damages but never wrote anything down or gave me any paperwork.
