hi
How can I get back the money paid for the rent of a room in which I haven't lived on the period paid for?! is there any chance I could get something back, as the contract I've signed states that no refund could be claimed back etc (and the school bursar keeps 'throwing' this argument in my face everytime I ask him for a refund of those money - he also keeps saying that he couldn't find anyone else to place there after I left, then I keep saying 'How about all the other empty rooms in which you couldn't manage to place anyone?", and he keeps blurbing nonsense to me). Is none of my business that he couldn't manage to occupy those rooms! and the main reason the school is struggling to find students to place there (and in very BAD conditions also!) is because they (the school staff, the tutors etc) could park for free in the space in front of the building, but the students are barely aloowed to park there even to load or unload their things etc (I had serious problems, I couldn't really park there almost AT ALL!! and I actually paid for everything!). Isn't that a sort of abuse from them (the school, I mean, as they organised the student accomodation etc)? And how could I claim my money back?!! (actually how could I RECOVER them?!) Is there any chance I could recover anything, without having to pay MORE for a trial etc etc?!
I would be REALLY grateful for a claryfing answer asap!!
Many thanks!

Read what your contract says. If you broke an agreement to rent the room you are probably out of that money. How much rent have you paid him? You can try suing in small claims but it doesn't sound like you will prevail. Seems to me you broke an agreement.
