Before knowing all my rights, I agreed that a claim by a collection agency was owed by me at the first hearing. Now, of course, there is a judgement against me for that amount. I explained to their lawyer that at that time I had no means of making any payments. They scheduled another hearing to review my ability to pay. Before that day I researched my rights as a consumer as well as the collection agent's obligations to me. I need to know how to appeal/remove this judgement against me so that I can now use this new found knowledge. My credit report doesn't list the original debt any longer. The collection agency was never listed on my credit report. For that matter, the amount they're requesting is twice the amount that was charged off by the credit card company. there is nothing I can do while this judgement is in place. What course of action can I take now?
