If you buy a house that is being remodeled and everything has been removed from the house, such as kitchen sink, counters and cupboards. Bathroom sinks, tubs and toilets. Yet, there are supplies, tubs, toilets and other things in one of the rooms, still in packaging. The previous owner says that everything belongs to him and he wants all the things. My question is How long do i have to wait for him to come get the stuff out of the house? It's has been months.

In your state, Maine, you are allowed to remove someone's junk with a two week notice.

If I were you, I'd send him a certified letter (return receipt requested), notifying him that he has 30 days to make arrangements with you to retrieve his junk.
I'd also send a copy of that letter via regular mail.

I'd then post a notice in the newspaper advising him you are going to treat his property as abandoned in 30 days and dispose of it, if he doesn't come and retrieve it (or make arrangements with you for its retrieval).

You could also contact the police and report the property as found (abandoned) property.
They might come and take possession of the property, or in some cases, instruct you where to deliver it to the city for safekeeping and later disposal.
