Our 13 year marriage ended in a CA divorce decree granted in 1981. We mutually created a list of assets indicating how they would be split. There was no legal stipulation relating to the assets. The agreed item relating to my ex's future pension states:
" 25. <company name> retirement (vested) asset is split in equal parts consistent with the manner of the payment at retirement."

He no longer worked for this company at the time of the divorce, so the current retirement benefit is based on the vested amount at the time of the divorce. He will be 65 in 2008 and lives in NC. What do I need to do to collect on this item, assuming I still can. Do I need a QADRO?
Thank you for your assistance.

Hire a lawyer to examine the judgment in the lawsuit.

I agree with senior judge. This is too complex an issue to simply answer here.

It never ceases to amaze me - please do NOT ask legal questions in the feedback area! The text is right there to see!
