HR is ran by owner’s wife? Conflict or not?

If it's not, I don't feel comfortable talking to HR, but the only choice is to be quite or go to HR. I've been called a "f*** dumb a**" in front of employees and a customer on the phone, who more than likely heard it. What are my choices? Is there any? Please advice. Thank you!

While it may or may not be a conflict, there are no laws prohibiting HR from being managed by the owners wife. Whether there is a conflict will depend on the individuals involved - it is not an ILLEGAL conflict.

The language you describe, while highly inappropriate, is not illegal. If it were illegal to be a jerk, we'd need a lot more jails.
