Recent hurricane damage:

during the hurricane a piece of metal from a carport at the apartment complex flew off and scrapped the back of my vehicle causing $1200 dollars worth of damage. The management is saying that it is my problem that I would have to absorb the cost to fix the vehicle. I have submitted photos and an estimate to them, but they say they will not pay for it. Is there anything I can do to get them to pay for the damage to my vehicle?

Do you have comprehensive coverage on your car insurance? That would be your best chance of getting payment for this damage.

The apartment complex is not responsible because this damage is not due to their neglect. It was caused by a hurricane and these types of issues are typically classified as "acts of god".
