Husband threatening to take my kids in divorce

I desperatly want to divorce my husband, but he has threatened to take my kids away from me. He has major anger issues and I dont even feel comfortable leaving him alone with my kids for an hour. I basicly want to know if he can take my kids from me?

BTW: they are his kids too, I just refer to them as my kids because he isnt involved at all so they are basicly my kids.

Only a judge can decide custody.

If you do not get a court order in place, no one can make him return the children to you.

Point being, file for custody ASAP.
