i will be filing for divorce shortly & my husband has changed his ph# & blocked my emails. i have no way of contacting him. if i cannot find him to have divorce papers served to him, what happens? can i still get a divorce or am i stuck?

As long as you have a valid address for him, he will be served.

all i have is his brother's address, who he is staying with at the moment but if he moves out soon if have nothing. if i am not using an attorney & filing this all myself, then i have to have a family member serve him the papers for me correct? so would that person have to wait around at that address for him to walk out or answer the door to be served?

also, what happens if he does not respond to the filing? am i stuck? or is there some law that says if there is not response for a certain amount of time then i will be granted the divorce?

Enigma - I would do it through an attorney since you can missing out on very important things during the filing. The attorney will take care of serving your ex. If you have his work address, that would be a good thing. There are a bunch of scenarios that can play when it comes of how the divorce will be granted but, I strongly suggest that you at least consult with an attorney to make sure you have all your bases covered.
