My husband's father passed in 2003.
Step mother (82 yrs) says she was told they are no longer related, that he(husband) is no longer her step son. Bank teller told her that. Step mother got it confused. Was told to contact atty if she wasn't sure. All she does is let he/we know we aren't related and she is going to have her wil made out and doesn't want us to have hurt feelings. Yet, she has wreck, totals van, in hospital 1 month, and he/we are the ones who got the collect calls from her. (we are in the country and everything is a distance)Well,he/we are handling car issues. She had a healthcare poa that no one but she would make decisions, yet he/we always get stuck doing it. She wants he/we to look for her a new van. Constantly, on the run for her. He/we take food to her, change her light bulbs, plumber stuff, clean house (few times), lawn,etc. We moved her closer to us, after Dad passed. Helped her BUY a house. Husband is on loan and all 3 of us are on title. She says she is leaving us the house, if we want it. She is giving us another bill. She brags that she pays $30. more a month on the house. Said she will take us off the house if we don't want it. Whoopie!
PS NO ONE from her blood side has ever been to her home, couldn't find it if they wanted too. What should he/we do? Get off house? Tell her to calll her bloood? BTW she is a control freak! Hope this all makes sense.
