I am a Temporary Worker...Or am I??

I am employeed by a local staffing agency.

I was placed at a company as in a "temp-to-hire" position as an Human Resource assistant. The company labeled me "Associate Staff."

I was told I was a 'temp-to-hire' in the fall of 2008. Four months later, I was told the company could not financially afford to hire me due to economic downturn, however they kept me on as a temporary with the promise that when the company is in a better financial standing I would be hired as a regular full-time employee.

The following summer in July (2009) I was told I had once more month to work and my job would be over.

As of April 2010, I am still with the same company as a "temp-to-hire." I am basicially a regular employee with company owned equipment and business cards.

In December of 2009, they even hired a person; yet telling me they still could not hire me.

In the fall I will have been at this job 2 years.

What could I do about my situation? Is there any sort of legal negliance by the company?
