Please help, i have 2 children one is 19 and graduated high school in may of 08 and i am still paying child support on her, via income deduction order, i have gone to court to have it stopped but the order is just sitting on the judge's desk, i orginally went to court the first time in nov. 07, thinking that would be enough time to have it stopped by may of 08. i again did another motion last week to have it stopped and everytime i call the court they just say he has not gotten to it. i have talked with my ex wife in regards to me over paying now in excess of 4k, all she says is she doesn't care and will not pay the money back. i am at a loss, she is taking me back to court next month wanting me to pay childsupport until my 2 children get out of college, and half of all college expensess and keep health care on them. i only bring home 800 biweekly, i don't see how this is possible.. what would happen if i moved and the income deduction order is no longer in effect and i only pay child support for my son who is 17 and nothing else and just forget about the excess money i over paid, is that an jailable offense as long as i pay my child support alone. oh ya did i mention i haven't seen my 2 children going on 2 yrs now, i call and email with no avail. please help, can anyone give me advice.

Why are they taking your taxes? Are you in arrears? Also you fail to say what the court order says about when support stops? Paying support while a child goes to College is not abnormal.

What state are you in? If it is not in the original order for you to pay college then you probably will not be ordered too. Same with support. You really need to consult with an attorney or start googling some fathers rights groups in yout state.

i do not owe any excess in child support, the court order states that it would stop upon graduation from high school, but since i have 2 children it doesn't state how much it would go down it only states how much i have to pay, but not per child. i live in florida

also when i went to court in nov. 07 he stated that support would go down by half, but he has not made an order on it. as far a college exp. both parties are suppose to be paying our daughter the money, but at this time she has extensive scholarships in which she doesn't need money, i have asked for recepts everything, she says that the scholarship money is paying for all of it. but my ex says i still need to pay her the money. also in florida their is no law that states i have to help pay for college. or keep health care on them. i can not find a fathers rights group in tallahassee.
